Hello friends!
We just fished the 6th Annual Invitational Billfish Tournament 2021!
I always say one of the things I love about fishing is meeting amazing people and this time was no exception.
I had the pleasure to meet and fish with
Dr. Kris Mohandie, a well-respected forensic psychologist and author
Chef Matt Moore, author of Serial Griller, amazing grill book!
Fran Gough And Kyle Sowell, very enthusiastic anglers.
We had a good first day with some good action during the morning and late afternoon. Wind up the day with 8 sails from 12 bites and some really good Mahi action.
Second day we couldn’t have started better with a blue Marlin that came in hot on the spread, Dr. Mohandie taking the battle for a quick release. After about 40 min caught another sail, then another blue came on the left short teaser, this time Frank took charge landing this fish! Amazing action in one hour! We had more sailfish action the rest of the day. Mahi mahi was pretty thick with 6 keepers, we end up our great day with 7 sails and two blues!
3rd day the wind and rain picked up quite strong but still manage to catch a few sails. Some long lines wrapped in our props, but that didn’t stop us from catching a few more sails and some good mahi as well. The wind died down as always in the afternoon and wind up our day with double digit sails. This action took us to second place for our category and first place in the Marlin division!!!
